Dover Street Market Los Angeles is gearing up for a captivating jewelry exhibition in June, marking the sixth installment of their jewelry-centric showcases. This highly anticipated event, open now, will feature an impressive lineup of 16 designers and brands, including both established and emerging talents. The exhibition is strategically timed to coincide with the Couture Las Vegas show, providing a unique platform for designers to connect with clients and engage with the local community.
Mimi Hoppen, the director of jewelry at Dover Street Market International, emphasizes the exhibition's goal of fostering dialogue between different generations and approaches to jewelry design. By bringing together a diverse range of brands and creative voices, the exhibition aims to showcase the multifaceted nature of contemporary jewelry. Among the participating designers are Alabaster Industries, Castro Smith, Francesca Villa, J Hannah, Kat Kim, Lizzie Mandler, Lucy Delius, Marin, Douglas Prade, Natural Instinct, Polly Wales, Scotty Givhan, Shinara, Spinelli Kilcollin, Tom Binns, and Yutai.
One of the highlights of the exhibition is Tom Binns, renowned for his sculptural approach to jewelry and metalwork. His participation adds a layer of artistic depth to the event. Additionally, L.A.-based Spinelli Kilcollin will present pieces from its Galaxy Ring collection, offering a glimpse into the intersection of technology and fine jewelry. The exhibition also introduces a new generation of designers, such as Yutai, founded by Yuta Ishihara in 2021, alongside Scotty Givhan and Alabaster Industries.
The exhibition's curatorial approach goes beyond simply showcasing jewelry; it aims to create a dialogue between different generations and approaches to jewelry design. Hoppen explains, 'Our intention was to bring together a range of brands and creative voices that reflect different perspectives on jewelry today. The exhibition juxtaposes established and emerging talents, each with a distinct point of view.'
This highly anticipated event promises to be a rich exploration of contemporary jewelry, offering a unique platform for designers to showcase their talents and engage with the local community. With a diverse range of designers and exclusive pieces, the exhibition is set to become a must-visit destination for jewelry enthusiasts and fashion aficionados alike.
